By the Pricking of My Thumbs

It's a quiet meal between us, as people begin to wander in for breakfast. The apartment itself seems too quiet.
Everyone takes the of Djhuety's departure in their own way, but we're all a little down as we take our meal. Soon we've finished breakfast. I glance down the hall. "If Ignacy doesn't get up soon he'll be missing breakfast all together. Anybody in the mood to go wake the slug-a-bed?"

Lily, sour-faced at the news of the day glances down the hall, now noticeably missing a door, and grimaces. "Not on you're life; I really ain't in the mood for a morning person," she grumbles, spreading a generous amount of preserves over a griddle cake before pushing it around her plate. "He'll talks more bout fire then naught and I ain't in the mood for 'is antics."

I shrug. "Well, there's always more food when he's hungry I suppose."

i open my eyes and try to get out of bed but my body wont move i scream "I CANT FEEL MY LEEEEEEEEEGS!".

Everyone at the table starts at the shout. I drop my fork and race down the hall, banging open the door. "Ignacy, what in the..."

"wait what are you guys doing in my dream?" i say confused.

The line between comic and tragic seems wide today as Ignacy lies helpless on his bed, three quarters of his body already encased in a diamond like material that appears to be growing from his flesh. Only his face and part of his left arm remain unshrouded as he struggles in vain against the merciless growth. Lily trails in behind Liv, her eyes widening before she begins to giggle and steps back out of sight behind the door jam.

I stare at the sight, my eyes wide.
"So that's what the poison does..." I step over, my head cocked. "Can you breathe all right?"

i realize i havent been breathing and gasp for air "i dont think my primary and secondary lung is working".

"Okay..." First, I repeat my trial of the night before, raising my voice in healing. If anything, it only makes the bony covering resonate. "Damn." I sit at the edge of his bed. "There's got to be something....We may have to call someone. A Nightside doctor who knows about such things, perhaps."

"you know the nazis were breeding giant coatls to use as mounts" i say gasping for breath i continue "maybe they know something".

Lily peeks back around the door frame. "Not the most brilliant of schemes." she shakes her head, holding in the giggles, "Like as to rob you blind and make it worse then actually do any good." Walking over, she raps out a beat on Ignacy's knee with her knuckles, causing him to ring like a xylophone. "An more 'en likely, the same goes for the docs."

i gasp "i have a free hand and a gun under this pillow do not make me use it" irritated at being used like a musical instrument.

"You got a better idea then, Lily?" I ask sharply. "Because if so we'd all love to hear it."

Grinning savagely, "So that's where you keep it. It'll look quite good when we pose you in the park... Or would you rather the sword?" Her tone slides into feigned innocence for the last question as she shrugs at Liv.

Finally i can't stop laughing "Dear gods" I manage to gasp out, trying to compose myself "Are you sure that is from the poison, or did you take some form of Experimental Viagra" I bust up again Amiee trying to hide in my collar

i rest my head against my pillow and stop waving my arm around "its good that you all find it so amusing but can we please focus on curing me?".

"I'm fresh out of ideas..." I glance up at Liam. "Do you know anything that might help?"

Wetting a finger, Lily runs her index in a circle on Ignacy's chest, creating a low buzz. "I got something, though I fear it'll only be temporary."

" what is your idea Putian?" i smile "if yours doesn't work we can try mine"

Taking Ignacy by the shoulder, Lily twists her right hand sharply before repeating the gesture at every joint down his arm, wrist and fingers. The whole process takes about five minutes before she nods at Ignacy. "Try to move you're joints now."

i struggle a bit and say "my joints can move just fine thank you but im stuck in this damn shell".

"I'm afraid it will probably spread to your face and upper body next." I say quietly. I can't supress a small smile, despite the dire circumstance. "Your jaws will probably lock up. Which might not be such a bad thing."

Frowning, Lily peers more closely at Ignacy's crystalline shell. "I had assumed it was fused plates growing from your skin," She mutters, scratching at the bend of his elbow with a forefinger, "I can even feel the joints where they meet. Would that I could, that should 'ave worked." Shrugging, she steps back, but not before giving him another rap on the forearm with her knuckle. He grimaces as the ringing escalates, but this time the sound seems higher and fails to resonate as long. "He's all your's."

I smile taking the rather shriveled bit of apple from the garden where i was restored out " here man, eat it helped me it might help you" i simply hope the magic of it is still there
